I used to write about afternoons spent leaning against video stores…

Or all the time I spent wandering around shopping malls…

There was a minute, or some seconds, when I knew about love…

just a day in a parking lot, in a Mustang, yelling and breaking up.

And I erased my clock…since it was already just drawn on…and

started something from scratch. I called it productive. They called

it selfish. A foreign girl asks me how Wall-E ends…do they spend

an infinity together or does he never light up again.

I used to write about afternoons spent leaning against liquor stores

waiting and waiting for easy marks to take our rumpled bills.

I used to drink with my best friends, laid out on beaches and slumped

against sheds. And on mornings we’d wake up with heavy heads…

burned down cigarettes yellowing our hands. Infinite is a word in a

book I once read …we are finite lovers with our sights on our ends.
